On today's walk I found everything I took a photo of had a bit of a vintage vibe- which I loved, of course. I was wandering, thanks to the glory of the Overground system (my favourite transport in London, hands down) around Kew Gardens, and the little train station there was surrounded by a quaint whole foods market and little cafés. There was a Starbucks that had encroached on the 'tiny old village' vibe, but it wasn't particularly glaring, so I forgave it and went inside for a massive mug of Darjeeling. I sat outside on the bench and watched old men walking their lovely Labradors, young men in very pointy shoes, and a particularly mad-looking Vivienne Westwood-esque type older woman who was wearing stripy tights. I love British eccentrics. I wasn't brave enough to take her photo though.
I ended the day with a quiet ride on the Overground (blissfully empty) back home and slid my feet into my wooly slippers. It was lovely.
