Well, shit! If I didn't just finish photographing my first (and last) wedding! It seems like the day flew, and after being on my feet (and bike, and behind the wheel of a moody Smart car) the whole day, I realised how out of shape I am. Now that August is almost over, I intend to start a new regimen in September. I'm going to start exercising regularly again (it fell to the wayside when Ang visited and never got picked up), stop eating junk (I'm looking at YOU, peanut butter ice cream), and finally, start my Finnish courses at the University. I'm officially enrolled, I've got my (hulking, massive) textbook, and I'm ready to properly learn the number 3 hardest language in the world. Gulp.
The days are getting shorter here, and every night the sun sets a little earlier. In the park in front of our house the trees are already turning golden in patches, and if you are out after dark without a cardigan, you'll get a chill. In about two months the winter will begin to creep in, little by little, and this paradise of biking, boating, swimming and exploring Helsinki will be put aside for a few months to make way for the long, dark season. This isn't all bad though- we've got lingonberries to pick, pies to bake, newlyweds to visit, and, if Ban ever gets his scattered mind together, even an American university talk-tour in the works! Plus with autumn comes clothes layering, which seeing as I've basically eaten the content of an entire bakery this summer, is a very handy thing.
For now though, it's back to editing the photos from the wedding. I took over 1000, whittled it down to about 700, and am now going through the final picks to make a lovely book for our dear friends. Once I've finished them (and gotten their permission, of course), I'll pop a few on the ole' blog as well. We can all have a chuckle at me pretending to be a wedding photographer for a day- a feat not soon to be repeated. Oof.
