Everybody knows this place by now, so I'm not going to ramble on about it. Here are a few things I learned:
- Joshua Trees are actually a variation of Yucca plant.
- Cholla Cacti are not to be messed with. One of my travel companions had one little puffball lodged violently in his thumb. It was as if "every bristle had its own mouth and was biting me.". Proof- I tried to pull on out of a leather boot and IT WOULD NOT COME OUT.
- The Colorado and Mojave Deserts meet here, and this is the one place Joshuas grow.
- Seriously. Never touch a Cholla. They're called the "Jumping Cactus" for a reason. They will jump yo' ass. Their spines CURVE once they make contact, like a damn fish hook. Welcome to life with a Cholla stuck in you. FOREVER.
